Nigerian have reacted to comments made by the Chairman of the Kano State Gas Pipeline Project Delivery and Gas Industrialisation Committee, Muaz Magaji on the take-over of Afghanistan by the Taliban.

In a Facebook post that has since gone viral, Mr. Mahaji said: "It's a WIN-WIN in Afghanistan today!"

This is not the first time the former commissioner has made such distasteful comments.

In April 2020, he was dismissed as commissioner of works and infrastructure by Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje after he celebrated the death of former Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.

He becomes the second high-ranking official to have openly declared their support and endorsed a terrorist group.

The first, according to SaharaReporters was Isa Pantami, the Minister of communications and Digital Economy.

Taliban fighters entered the city of Kabul on Sunday, hijacked power, forcing President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani to flee the country.

El rufai & his untrained family also share same ideology wit this guy. We are in this mess bcos Jonathan didn't tame Buhari!"

JUSTICE wrote: "That's why South-Westerners/Easterners in Nigeria are really in trouble. Taliban’s ideology is similar to most Northerners’ ideology in Nigeria. U could imagine how happy “Muaz Maga” was when the Taliban took over the whole country. That’s what he wants for Nigeria as a country"

Asiru ABBAS said: "You can see that there are so many sympathizers of terrorists in Nigeria. Curses are like chickens, they will definitely come home to roost, let them continue to support evil."

Goodnamesanmite commented: "This is serious. We need to separate ourselves from all these terrorists."
