Soldiers storm IPOB/ESN camp in Ebonyi, kill one, recover arms

Military personnel on Thursday, March 21, 2024, embarked on a raid on the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and their armed affiliate the Eastern Security Network (ESN) Camp located at Mgbalukwu in Inyimagu, Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The attack was in collaboration with troops of Sector 2 (EBONYI) of the Joint Task Force South East Operation UDO KA and personnel of NPF, DSS and NSCDC acting on credible intelligence.

According to reports, there was an exchange of fire which resulted in the death of one of the IPOB members, as others fled to the forest.

The troops recovered arms which includes; one x AK-47 rifle, 2 x AK-47 magazines, 54 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition and 3 x stolen Sienna buses.

In a statement released, the Force Commander Joint Task Force South Operation UDO KA, Major General HT Dada applauded the cooperation of the troops and other security agencies.

He urged the residents of the South East to continuously provide reliable and credible information on the whereabouts of the terrorists.
