Public school teachers in the Bwari Local Government Area of the Federal Capital Territory have closed down schools due to unpaid salaries.

Reports gathered so far indicates that students were sent back home on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, few days before the start of the third term examinations.

Sources within the FCT chapter of the National Union of Teachers (NUT) stated that the decision to shut down schools in the area was because of the refusal of the LEA to pay the teachers their June salary.

The LEA primary school, Dutse-Sagwari, LEA primary school Kuduru, Bwari, and LEA primary school, Garba were some of the affected schools.
