A pastor of El-Adonai Evangelical Ministry (Aladura) in Lagos is on the run after not more than six members of his congregation were electrocuted on the church premises.

The Nations reported that the six were electrocuted on Sunday, October 3 in his church located in the Abule-Egba area of the state.

The incident was confirmed by the coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the Southwest, Ibrahim Farinloye.

An eyewitness, Segun Onilude said the incident happened as the church prepares for its end-of-year celebrations.

“We came to church early to ensure that the church was adorned beautifully. The church flag was old and tattered and needed to be changed.

“We suddenly heard a noise outside and rushed out only to see two of our members shaking and foaming. Two other members who tried to push them away from the electric cable got electrocuted,” Onilude said.

Another two who had contact with the live pole were also electrocuted.

General Manager, State Fire Service, Adeseye Margaret confirmed that six persons died in the incident.

The pastor of the church could not be reached as he was said to have fled since the incident.
