Oyakhilome reveals how pastors will use COVID-19 guidelines to persecute Christians

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy Church has said that the COVID-19 guidelines given to churches is a tool for persecuting Christians.

Speaking in a TV broadcast, Oyakhilome stated that pastors who accepted the guidelines have rejected their faith in Jesus Christ.

"You cannot believe in Jesus Christ and be afraid of viruses. Jesus touched the leppars and healed them.

"These people who are afraid are pretending to represent Christians, government. It's a shame. I think the government leaders are laughing at them. Because if you say you are a Christian, you are a minister of the gospel, what gospel?", he asked.

"If you are afraid of the virus, you have no gospel, your gospel has ended. The moment you began to give such guidelines to people in the church, you repudiated your faith in Christ.

Oyakhilome also called for prayers for the pastors and ministers whom he says are scared of the disease.

"The reason why many churches are still shut down is not just because of government but because of church leaders who insisted to government not to let the churches open except the churches follow these wicked guidelines.

Given reasons why the guidelines are wicked, Oyakhilome said, "One of those guidelines says if you want to lay hands on the sick, you have to wear gloves. This is crazy".

He also spoke of another guideline which says Holy Communion should be suspended.

"Holy Communion that Jesus told us to take, we are told to suspend them because of a pandemic. This is crazy. God's people need to realize what is going on", he said.

The Clergyman also revealed that what the pastors are planning with the guidelines is a tool for persecution. He said the churches and Christians that decide to follow Jesus with all their heart will be singled out and persecuted.

"And who will persecute them? The same people that persecuted Jesus. They were the religious crowds", he said.

He continued: "The Pharisees of today, they are the ones preparing to persecute their brothers and sisters because they have told government that they are ready to supervise. How will they supervise? By sending out their members with cane?"
