About 880 vulnerable residents of Ila Local Government Area of Osun State have received the stimulus package initiated by the Government of the State of Osun to mitigate the adverse effects of the global Coronavirus pandemic.

The beneficiaries of the scheme who could not hide their joy showered encomiums on Governor Oyetola and prayed God to continue to support his government in its quest to sustain the scheme.

This is even as the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Adebisi Obawale, and the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Ismail Omipidan reaffirmed the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s commitment to social protection programmes.

The state government had on Thursday flagged off the food support scheme to effect immediate distribution to vulnerable citizens across the nooks and crannies of the 30 Local Government Areas of the State and one Area Office.

According to the government, 30,000 vulnerable citizens drawn from the social register of the State would benefit from the gesture.

Presenting the stimulus package to the beneficiaries at the Ila township hall, Orangun’s palace square, Dr. Obawale said the Administration of Governor Oyetola would continue to champion the welfare and well-being of the citizens.

He assured the people, particularly the residents, of equity and fairplay stressing that the distribution would be made in accordance with the distribution rule to ensure that it gets to the targeted beneficiaries.
