No Church, No Bank attendance without Vaccination – Obaseki

Governor Godwin Obaseki Governor Godwin Obaseki

From the second week of September, inhabitants of Edo state who have not undergone COVID-19 immunization will be denied admission to public and private institutions, including banks, events, and religious centers, according to Governor Godwin Obaseki.

“Beginning the second week of September 2021, big gatherings, as well as heavy traffic public and private venues, will only be accessed by those who have documentation of receiving at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccination,” Obaseki stated in Benin on Monday, announcing the Second Phase of vaccinations.

People who have never been vaccinated will rely on remote access to these vaccines.

“People may not be permitted to worship in churches or mosques after the second week of September unless they present verification of their vaccination cards at the gates.”

“People will also be denied entry to event centers, receptions, or parties unless they can present proof of vaccination cards. If they aren't vaccinated, they won't be able to use financial services starting in September 2021.”

“We've made sufficient measures with security services to prevent anyone without vaccination cards from entering any of these locations. This is being done to protect our citizens, and all of these measures will be in place until the pandemic is over.”
