Four suspects have been arrested by the police in Niger State in connection with the printing of fake certificates of the state College of Education, Minna.

The suspects are Sule Idris, 50; Suleiman Abubakar, 37; Suleiman Garba, 41; and Bright Echebini, 40, all resident in the state capital, The Punch said.

The spokesman for the command, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrest on Monday.

It was gathered that the committee set up by the state government to screen all categories of civil servants discovered the activities of the syndicate and handed the members over to the police for prosecution.

Abiodun said three suspects were initially arrested for presenting fake certificates of the Niger State College of Education during the screening.

According to him, the suspects confessed to have conspired among themselves and contracted Echebini, who printed most of the forged certificates discovered during the screening.

He said police operatives also recovered some other forged documents found in Echebini’s place of work, adding that the suspects would be charged after investigation.
