N590 per liter: I can't feed my family again - Man bemoans rising cost of fuel

A resident of Zamfara State, Usaman Tsafe has bemoaned the effect of the skyrocketing prices of fuel on his family and business.

Tsafe, who was speaking to Daily Post said his children have stopped attending schools as he was not able to meet up with their school fees, saying that even feeding has become a teething problem in his household.

He made the comment after the price of fuel increased to N590 per liter on Tuesday.

The latest hike in price has seriously affected transportation and other businesses in the state.

“I don’t have money to transport myself to my destination so I now trek to work”, he added.

Some other residents interviewed by the Daily Post revealed even civil servants could not afford two square meals a day due to the harsh economic environment.

It was also observed that many business owners who rely on fuel have shut down as they are facing low patronage.
