Katsina: Gunmen rape, kill 14-year-old girl

Some gunmen have reportedly raped and killed a 14-year-old girl after they raided her fathers house in Shimfida, Jibiya Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Residents disclosed that the victim was having a bath when the gunmen got to the house and took advantage of her, The Punch said.

It was further learnt that the girl’s parents were not at home when the incident happened last Wednesday.

The parents were said to have gone to Jibiya only to return to find the lifeless body of their daughter.

Residents stated that the gunmen, whose numbers could not be ascertained, did not remove any item from the house before escaping, said The Punch.

The girl’s father, Mallam Idris, reportedly told sympathisers that the victim’s nine-year-old brother was in the house when the incident happened.

Idris said it was the younger brother, who disclosed that the gunmen stormed the house when the girl was having her bath.

“I was told that the gunmen initially raped her and later killed her to conceal their identities,” Idris stated.

The police spokesman in the state, SP Gambo Isah, requested more time to contact the Divisional Police Officer in the area and had yet to get in touch with our correspondent as of the time of filing this story.
