Kaduna: Gunmen kill bike rider, abduct LG chairman

Fear gripped the Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State after it was reported that its chairman, Mr. Katuka Humble was kidnapped by some unknown gunmen.

According to reports, the incident took place at Kiduni village in the Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

A source said Humble was being conveyed to his farm on a motorcycle when the hoodlums opened fire, killing the rider on the spot, The Punch said.

The gunmen were said to have subsequently gone away with the chairman.

“The farm is located somewhere around Kiduni in Chikun LGA,” the source said.

As of the time of filing this report, the Public Relations Officer of the state police command, ASP Mohammed Jalige, could not be reached and there was no reply to a text message sent to his telephone.
