Heavy weeping as suspected killer herdsmen run riot, kill 3 children, burn houses in Ogun

It is weeping galore in Orile Igbooro village in Yewa North local government Area of Ogun state after rampaging hoodlums stormed the community and wreaked havoc.

Channels Television reports that the assailants suspected to be killer herdsmen struck over the night of Saturday, February 13.

The residents were rudely awakened by the attackers who went on to kill three people, injure nine and destroyed several properties that included buildings, crop barns and vehicles.

The incident was confirmed by Ogun state Police Command spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi.

According to her, the three people killed by the attackers were under-aged kids.

The reported noted that the attack came just about a day after two people were also reported killed in Owode Ketu area of the same Yewa North local government.

Responding to inquiries about the incident, Governor Dapo Abiodun vowed to explore all necessary legal means get to the bottom of the matter.

The Nation reported that the governor through his media aide, Kunle Somorin and assured that relevant security operatives have been deployed to the troubled community to restore calm and apprehend the attackers.

In a similar vein, the Amotekun Corps in Ondo state confirmed that some armed assailants suspected to be criminal herdsmen on Wednesday, February 10, killed a farmer identified as Lanre and a member of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria.

According to the report, both men were reportedly shot dead at Ago Sanusi along Ute Road in Owo local government area of the state after laying an ambush for Amotekun officers in the forest.
