Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has applauded the people of Osun for supporting him through the court cases up until his victory was affirmed by the Supreme Court.

Adeleke who was dragged to the election tribunal in the state by then-incumbent Governor Adegboyega Oyetola was declared the winner of the July 16 polls by the apex court.

Speaking for the first time after his victory, Adeleke said the love from the Osun people was too "organic".

"First of all, let me thank the people of Osun State. They stood by me and still stood by me. They trooped out in July 16 and elected me as their governor. You know, I just thank them because the love is organic. Too organic."

I thank the judges who used their wisdom and took their time in giving that judgment," he said.

Meanwhile, the Governor has called urged his opponents including his major contender, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola to join hands with him in moving the South-West state forward.

Adeleke, who spoke on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, said there is no victor and no vanquished in the whole legal saga.

“With the litigations over, I call on all Osun State indigenes to join hands with me and move Osun State forward,” he said.

“There is no victor and no vanquished. My hands are open for ideas, anything they can do to move Osun State forward.”
