Fire breaks out at popular Lagos market

A fire outbreak has been reported to have occurred at a popular Lagos Island market, Dosunmu Market on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

According to an X user, Adunni, who shared videos of the incident, the incident began as a result of a generator explosion.

He went on to reveal that no firefighters were present at the time he shared the video.

He also noted that people were running helter-skelter as the fire increased.

"Just in guys, Eko Idumota (Dosunmu) Market is on fire due to generator explosion, and no firefighters in sight yet.

"The fire keeps going up. People are running for safety," Adunni said.

In the video, thick smoke filled the air as the fire burnt so high, the electricity wires were not spared.

Many were heard wailing over the lose of their goods and properties trapped in the inferno.

It was later revealed that the fire fighters arrived at the scene of the incident to quench the fire.
