FG restores curfew, restriction on mass gatherings

 • More than 200, 000 Nigerians have been affected by the novel coronavirus

 • The curfew takes effect Monday, May 10

The Federal Government has reinstated the nationwide 12 am to 4 am curfew to manage the spread of the coronavirus.

This was announced by the National Incident Manager, Mukhtar Mohammed at the briefing of the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 in Abuja.

He said the curfew will take effect from midnight on Monday, May 10, 2021.

He also said with effect from Tuesday, night clubs, gyms, and others would remain closed till further notice, The Nations reports.

He said gatherings of religious groups and weddings among others have been reduced to 50 percent attendance while official engagements, meetings and conferences should continue to hold virtually.
