The unending story of individuals based in the diaspora being scammed or deceived by their loved ones or associates continues to grow as the revelations from these disappointed individuals make the trends on social media.

The latest individual to face this ugly incident is a man from Kisii county in Kenya who couldn't hold his disappointment after he came home to an incomplete mud-walled house that his wife supposedly built with the money he sent while abroad.

The man who is identified simply as Ongiri was shocked when the money he had sent over the period to his wife wasn't put to the intended purpose per their agreement.

In a chat on the Brighton Thee PL YouTube channel, the man said he was dumbfounded when he visited the site where the supposed grand house was earmarked to be constructed with the funds he sent home.

"Even recently, she had asked me for money to buy some windows. I sent around KSh 150k (N1,773,513) and said it would cost KSh 90k (N1,064,107.80)," he told the YouTuber.

He said he didn't include his mother in his dealings with his wife because he trusted her adding that he was even more shocked when he realised the mud-walled house was also incomplete.

"I tried reaching her yesterday and demanded to know where my house is and the money for investments that I had sent her. I also called her, but my calls went unanswered," he said.

He also showed the message he sent the woman, demanding an account of the money he had sent her. From the message, it emerged that the couple has one child.

"I truly thought I could trust her and that she was the one for me. I didn't know she could do this," the heartbroken man said.

He insisted he will have to recover his money from his wife so that he can rebuild himself. In an initial video posted by the YouTuber, the woman confessed to having lied about building the house.

"The photos that I sent of an ongoing construction are from my neighbour. But you should forgive me. I am your wife," the woman said as the man broke into tears.
