Abia State Goverrnor, Alex Otti, has urged all public officers in his administration to comply with the asset declaration policy, urging all who are required to declare their assets do so without delay.
Otti said asset declaration should be the bare minimum for every public officer holder in Nigeria.
According to him, no-one holding public office should be non-compliant to the policy.
Governor Otti made the comment when he received top officials of Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, South-East zone to his office on Tuesday, emphasizingwww. that he and his deputy duly declared their assets before assumption of office,
He noted that all political appointees and public officers in the State must comply with the constitutional requirement in asset declaration.
“When I hear that some people have not visited the office or have not complied, it is strange,” he said.
Governor Otti directed the Secretary to the Abia State Government, Mr. Emmanuel Meribole to work with relevant officials to ensure full compliance by all officers in the State.
Earlier in his speech, the Zonal Director, Code of Conduct Bureau, South-East zone, Mr Akinfolarin Feyishola, appealed to the Governor to assist the CCB in enlightening Abia public office holders on assets declation.
