Buhari grieves over Hadiza Shagari's demise

President Muhammadu Buhari has mourned with the family of the late former President of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, over the death of his widow, Hajiya Hadiza Shagari.

Hajiya Hadiza Shagari passed away at the age of 80.

In a release issued on Thursday, August 12, 2021, by the president's Media Adviser, Femi Adesina, the departed was a pillar of strength and support, holding the fort in the family while her husband busied himself with service to the nation.

President Buhari also commiserated with the government and the people of Sokoto State, urging the family to be consoled by the good deeds of Hajiya Hadiza.

He prayed unto Allah to forgive the sins of the deceased and reward her with Paradise.
