Report indicates that some suspected gunmen on Tuesday, September 28, stormed the palace of Alhaji Ahmadu Attahiru, the Emir of Kagara in the Rafi local government area of Niger state.

According to Daily Trust report, its source stated that the Emir was absent at the time of the invasion during the Maghrib prayers.

The Emir was said to have left Kagara for a programme in Minna on Monday, September 27.

However, information gathered said that as at Friday, September 24, mobile network in Kagara was disconnected making things difficult for residents to call for help.

“I cannot give you the details now. The people who called this evening are no longer reachable again. The network in Kagara has been disconnected since Friday.”

“I believe even those who called went to bush to access network but it is true that the palace of Emir of Kagara was attacked," the source was quote to have said.
