Atiku Abubakar, Nigeria's former Vice-President has received his second dose of the coronavirus vaccine; Pfizer-BioNTech.

The former Vice-President's aide, Paul Ibe confirmed the report, adding that Atiku received the second dose of the vaccine on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.

Atiku is currently one of the first set of Nigerians to receive the vaccine, after taking his first dose in the United Arab Emirates on January 6, 2021.

According to Paul Ibe, Atiku took the first dose as part of the mass vaccination programme.

The Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine has been approved by many countries including the United Kingdom and the United States.
