Apostle Suleman Apostle Suleman

Apostle Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries has advised soldiers to use other measures against the people who disobey the lockdown order instead of beating them.

The lockdown order was declared by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), in a nationwide broadcast on Sunday.

The lockdown which was declared in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun will last for 14 days as a measure to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Since the commencement, several videos have gone viral showing how soldier have been beating people who disobeyed the order.

Apostle Suleman who reacted to their actions advised the soldiers to chase such people back to their houses instead of beating them.

He tweeted: Please, everyone stay at home.. .but soldiers, the way you are beating up people is uncalled for...chase them back indoors not these furious beatings.if the govt had palliative measures in place to reduce hunger, it would have been okay.some people are dying of hunger...my opinion".

He also called on governors to distribute food items to different local governments.

"Governors should release thousands of truckloads of food items to local govt chairmen and they should have council staff move from house to house giving food items. Nigeria has a reserved account for emergencies like this..what's going on?", he added.
