The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti has revealed why he ignored the viral comment by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ben Kalu about the 2027 governorship election in the state.

Recall that Kalu in an interview in August had said that the incumbent governor of Abia State would be the last the Labour Party produce to govern the state.

He commented on the back of questions posed to him about the chances of the All Progressives Congress, in the next election.

However, briefing newsmen at the Government House Umuahia at the weekend, Otti said he chose not to respond to Ben Kalu’s comment because he believes that power belongs to God and he gives it to whom he wants.

He said” I am actually not competent to sit here to tell what will happen in 2027. I do not subscribe to playing God.

He emphasized that authority is God’s, not man’s and that it would be foolish of him to foretell the future.
