407 new coronavirus infections recorded

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 407 new coronavirus cases in 16 states.

The agency revealed this on its official websites on Monday, August 1, 2021.

According to NCDC, the new cases is a decreased from the previous 497 cases recorded on Sunday.

So far, the total number of covid-19 confirmed cases amount to 174,315.

Although no new deaths has been recorded and the total number of fatalities remains 2,149.
The 407 new cases were recorded in Lagos-160, Akwa Ibom-75, Ondo-51, Abia-33, Oyo-29, Kaduna-18, Katsina-7 and Gombe-6.

Others include; Ogun-6, Ekiti-5, Delta-4, FCT-4, Ebonyi-3, Edo-2, Niger-2, Bayelsa and Nasarawa recorded one case each.

11 people have recovered and been discharged in the country, however, 165,005 patients have recovered nationwide.

The country’s active cases stands at 7,151, as 2.4 million people have so far been tested.

NCDC has cautioned Nigerians to observe the safety protocols in other to avoid another wave of the infections in the country.
