‘I’m leaving Kogi better than I met it’ - Yahaya Bello declares

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi has declared that he will be leaving the state better than he met it.

Mr Bello stated this on Saturday at the fourth convocation ceremony of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

The governor said part of his achievements was evident in repositioning Kogi Polytechnic and other state tertiary Institutions, saying, “I came, saw and will be leaving the state better than I met it”.

Mr Bello said his administration prioritised education by improving the infrastructure in tertiary institutions by establishing two universities.

He appreciated the Kogi people’s modest contribution by voting for Governor-elect Ahmed Dodo in the November 11, 2023, governorship elections.

The governor assured that Mr Ododo’s administration would build and take the achievements made by his administration to the next level.

He appealed to the people to support the governor-elect more to enable him to achieve greater success.

The governor commended TETFUND and other donors and financial agencies for their contributions to repositioning the polytechnic.

Earlier, the rector praised the governor for his support towards the successes recorded, describing his appointment as a rare privilege, and thanked the governor for finding him worthy to serve.
