'Two things that can stop Tinubu in 2027' - Ali Modu Sheriff discloses

President Bola Tinubu President Bola Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu winning the 2027 election has been described as non-negotiable. Ali Modu Shetiff, the former governor of Borno State, made the claim while speaking on the next general election in the country.

The former governor of Borno state explained that the president would only stop if there was no election in 2027 or if he decided to step down from the race, asserting that as long as President Tinubu contested the election, he would be declared the winner.

Sheriff explained that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) knew where things went wrong for it in 2023, which made the party lose states like Lagos and Kano, adding that those things have been fixed.

He explained that he had been in contact with Nigerians, adding that he had a private jet but had chosen to travel by road to see things happening across the country and also inform the president about the situation on the ground.

The former senator said: "I can tell you for free, the only things that will stop President Tinubu from winning the election in 2027 are only two factors: one, if there are no elections in Nigeria; two, if he decides not to run."

Some Nigerians have taken to the comment section of the interview and expressed their views: Duke Njoku said he would not underestimate Tinubu: "Don't worry. Jagaban will teach y'all something new when the time comes.

I don't support him, but I'll never underestimate him." Sylvester said the former governor has a history with Boko Haram: "When we talk about the history of Boko haram, one can not remove the history of Ali Shariff from it, sha." Arinze called for full electronic voting: "The only thing that is giving these guys impetus to speak down on the angry masses is that the election in Nigeria is Magic.

Let's have electronic voting, Una go understand say Una no fit win ward election." Oguobi Chinonso reacted: "We don't need an election. If so, let's not waste funds and time; let's save lives so that Tinubu can be a lifetime president."

Johnny wrote: "A takeaway thought, have u corrected the pains of Nigerians too? Have you corrected the hearts of Nigerians? Even Tinubu can answer that."
