Did Dino Melaye vote in the Kogi elections?

Dino Melaye, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State says his decision not to vote in the election should not be blamed for his defeat.

Melaye who finished a distant third to the eventual winner Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) refuted claims that he may have hampered his chances by refusing to vote during the Saturday poll.

But Dino argues: “People win elections from prison; whether I vote or not, it is immaterial.”

He said on Monday’s edition of Channels Television’s Politics Today: “The issue of voting or not voting has no legal status. People win elections in prison. Legally, it has no relevance to the election. Whether I voted or not, it is immaterial.”
