Yahaya Bello will contest Tinubu for 2027 APC presidential ticket - Guber candidate hints

The candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the upcoming Kogi State governorship elections, Muritala Ajaka has disclosed that Governor of the state, Yahaya Bello intends to contest in the 2027 presidential elections.

Speaking on Channels TV's Politics Today program on Tuesday, October 10, he alleged that part of the current governor's agenda is to contest in the next general elections.

“Of course, if you're in the state you know that I am the most popular candidate in the State, the people are with me by the grace of God.

“He [Yahaya Bello] knows his candidate is not popular, the civil servants in the state are against his candidate. Almost everybody who is somebody is against his candidate.

“He is putting these guys forward because Yahaya Bello wants to contest the 2027 presidential elections.”

He accused the current governor of compromise and being the main problem of Kogi State.

Despite not contesting in the polls, he believes Yahaya Bello is creating fear in the state by not taking action about the attacks on his campaign officers which have been reported to the police.

Governor Yahaya Bello's tenure will end in less than three months to make way for a new governor.

The State governorship election will be held on Saturday, November 11 to elect a new governor of the state.
