God wanted me to leave APC - Buhari's minister says

Solomon Dalung, a former Minister of Youth and Sports has revealed the reason he left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) despite being a founding member of the party.

Dalung served as minister in the Buhari administration between 2015 and 2019.

According to him, God wanted him to leave the party when asked in an interview on Channels Television on Tuesday, October 10.

"Well, I think I still have an outstanding record that no one has been able to match. There are many reasons why I left the APC but I think God didn't want me to stay. But I also think that the very toxic tongue of mine in terms of addressing issues and sparing certain thoughts within the power base played a role," he said.

Dalung is now a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
