I am working on a cure for COVID-19, Ayade says

Governor of Cross River state, Ben Ayade Governor of Cross River state, Ben Ayade

Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade has begun work on a cure for COVID-19.

Speaking in an interview with Channels Television, the Governor wondered why Nigerians could not come up with a cure. He applauded Madagascar for their move on COVID-ORGANICS.

Ayade said his state's resources have been limiting, but he has begun something anyways.

He believed this would be a time to stop COVID-19 and malaria altogether due to the close nature of both ailments.

The Governor strongly believes Nigeria is being exploited by the decision to follow the West and wait for a cure from abroad.

"Nigeria is being exploited by this virus. There are many loopholes where other nations are profiting from us. Why can't we produce our test kits and vaccines? This is the time, Nigeria should prove ourselves. Let us find our own solution to the virus. I sympathise with the follow the west syndrome. I am happy with what Madagascar has done. We can cultivate artemether," he said.

"I have begun to work on my own vaccine. Just that my state is not economically viable enough and we do not have the necessary funds to carry out this project. However, we have begun to do something," Ayade added.
