Vehicle breakdown, major cause of traffic in Lagos- Sanwo-Olu

The continuous breakdown of vehicles on major roads in the state has been identified as the reason for the heavy traffic in Lagos, Lagos State Governor Jide Sanwoolu has said.

He made this declaration at the inauguration of an ultra- modern office accommodation for the Lagos Vehicle Inspection Officers, where he emphasized the importance of road safety marshals in coordinating vehicles in the state.

Charging traffic officials to sanitize the growing menace, he revealed that only roadworthy vehicles would ply the roads for the safety of lives and property of residents.

Sanwo-Olu stressed that the Government will continue to improve infrastructure and technology in every aspect of the state, to aid development.

Part of those technological innovations introduced by the Government involves the use of Automated Number Plate Recognition, electronic testing, Lagos Computerized Vehicle Inspection Service, Forensic Laboratory and Auto-Vin, and E-testing for driver licence.
