Wikipedia changes David Lyon's title from Governor-elect to Politician

Wikipedia has changed the title of recently sacked APC Governor-elect of Bayelsa, David Lyon, from "Governor-elect" to "politician."

This was revealed in an investigation by mynigeria.com after running through Lyon's profile on the free online encyclopedia today.

Wikipedia described the ex-Governor-elect as a politician and former Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State.

The excerpt read thus:

"David Lyon Perewonrimi (born 20 December 1970) is a Nigerian politician and the former Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State. He was declared winner of the election, but a day to his swearing-in as governor, his election was invalidated by the Supreme Court of Nigeria on grounds that his running mate submitted a fake certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission; the court ordered Douye Diri to be issued a certificate of return, which would make him governor-elect."

Yesterday, the Supreme Court nullified the election of Bayelsa State governor-elect, David Lyon and his running mate, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo who was to be sworn-in today.

A five-man panel of Supreme Court headed by Justice Mary Peter-Odili ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to the All Progressives Congress’ candidates as the winners of the November 16, 2019 governorship election in the state.

The apex court ordered INEC to issue fresh certificates to the candidates of the party with the next highest votes and required constitutional spread of votes in the results of the election, which are the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidates.
