Wike reveals real reason behind his visit to Aso Rock

The former Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike has denied rumours of his planned defection from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) following his closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Fridays, June 2.

The PDP Chieftain met the newly elected president together with Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and former Delta State Governor, James Ibori.

Wike, however, insists that he visited Aso Rock to wish Bola Tinubu well and offer him support.

When asked if a possible switch from PDP to APC could be on the cards, Wike said:

“No. No plans. Nothing like that in the offing.

“We are Nigerians and we have come to give the president support.

“That is what is required. There is no big deal about that.”
