A section of Nigerians on social media have been reacting to a video of some members of the major political parties in Nigeria exchanging pleasantries at a recent event.

The video that was shared on the Instagram page of Dele Momoodu, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) shows Dino Melaye, Director General of Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Doyin Okupe and some other bigwigs.

He captioned the photo: "Leaders display camaraderie and exchange pleasantries whenever they meet but their followers attack themselves by exchanging blows and weapons..." to insinuate that people belonging to the political class are enemies against the popular perception.

His post, however, didn't go down well with social media users who told him that party supporters also do what the political class does.

This video also brings to the forefront the controversy that hit the Labour Party that Dr. Doyin and 10 other members of the Party were expelled from the party.

Recall that it was alleged that the LP chieftains were expelled by the leadership of the Ogun State Chapter of the party at a conference held in Abeokuta.

naturalboifilmz: "Supporters also greet each other in real life. That u greet someone doesn't make them your friend. This is what yoruba called "oju aye" oju aye is allowed. That u greet each other doesn't mean they will leave the election for u to win. U will still want the other person to lose. The game is the game. Forget all this emotional blackmailing sir."

officialmayorspeaks: "One thing we all need to know, these guys are friends and they smile and link up after the election period"

payrolloluwa: "We know say na cruise una use us catch, but una see dis 2023 election, many of una na Heart attack go kill una. Obi is all we need and dat is wat matters"

bodeolugbore: "There's no better way to know that, very few of these people are having the interest of Nigerians at heart. It's a shame to show to Nigerian Citizens, that they're just a game being played.....here!"
