Watch Dino Melaye and Ortom in hot exchange during PDP meeting

Former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Kogi State, Dino Melaye, was engaged in a heated exchange with ex-governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom.

The former Senator accused Ortom of anti-party activities during the 2023 general elections.

During the PDP North Central Zonal leadership meeting held in Abuja on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, Melaye claimed Ortoms anti-party activities caused the party the presidential and governorship elections in Benue state.

Melaye raised concerns at the former governor’s presence at the meeting saying Ortom was disloyal to the party.
Ortom, who was not pleased with Melaye’s outburst, did not hesitate to respond to the allegations.

Recall that Ortom had teamed up with the G-5 governors led by former Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike who is currently the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, to battle Atiku Abubakar’s presidential candidacy under the PDP.

It was reported that while other G-5 members supported President Bola Tinubu, Ortom backed the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi who lost the 2023 polls.
