UPDATED: APC dissolves NWC, appoints Yobe gov as caretaker chair

The All Progressives Congress has dissolved its National Working Committee, NCW, reports.

The decision was reached at the National Executive Council meeting held on Thursday.

Bashir Ahmad, an aide to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), tweeted, “Following the recommendation of President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been dissolved.”

The National Executive Committee also appointed Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe as Caretaker Chairman of the party.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Buni was swore-in by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami.

Buni, who was a one-time Secretary of the party, is to oversee the conduct of the forthcoming APC convention. (NAN)
