President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Ondo State House of Assembly, to transfer power to deputy governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

This President decided at a meeting after he summoned the leadership of the state and the party on the ongoing crisis between Governor Akeredolu and Deputy Aiyedatiwa.

As reported by The Nation, the president emphasized that this transfer should be conducted without any conditions, as it aligns with the “doctrine of necessity.”

Legit.ng understands that the transfer of power will be done by electronic signature (e-signature) as the ailing governor is too weak to sign any document.

Meanwhile, this decision allows Governor Akeredolu to take another medical leave, ensuring his well-being, Sahara Reporters confirmed.

The Ondo governor is receiving treatment for leukemia and has been undergoing chemotherapy in Nigeria, which SaharaReporters learnt had been knocking him out for up to 10 hours after every medication.

Family sources told SaharaReporters on Tuesday that Akeredolu’s condition has worsened.

“He is no longer able to speak,” one of the sources said.
