Bashorun Dele Momodu, the Director of Strategic Communications of the largest opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) lacks the national spread to defeat his principal Atiku Abubakar.

Dele Momodu made the comment when he appeared as a guest on Channel TV's political magazine show, The 2023 Verdict on Tuesday, February 7.

According to him, Tinubu is a regional force while Peter Obi is a third force but he is struggling.

He said: "Peter Obi is a third force but he is struggling. You see, a presidential race is a marathon. It's a long-distance raise that takes time to build up. Even Chief M.K.O Abiola, a lot of people who do not know the history of Nigeria think he just came in 1993."

"With all his wealth and he won the election, no! In 1981, he was in NPN. He had loads of money just like Tinubu today but he was a businessman and not a career politician. He wanted to be president and was told the presidency is not for sale. Most money bag who come into politics always feel it is all about money but they told MKO, it is not about your money and he went away quietly to rebuild and he came back in 1993, 12 years after and that was when he was able to do it."

"So those who are running today are new on the presidential stage. The presidential stage is a massive stage. Tinubu has always played at the regional level in Lagos at the very best. Even in the whole of the southwest, he has always been challenged."

"He doesn't have the aura, intellect, and personality of an Abiola and that is why I said it will be difficult for any of them to match Atiku. Buhari and Tinubu are regional forces, Atiku is not a regional force. He has built bridges spanning thirty years, unlike the others. Like we will say jonny just come."
