Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Print Media has dismissed any coalition that will challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections, describing them as “expired politicians”.

He took the swipe at the political enemies of the administration when he spoke in a media chat with journalists at the NUJ Press Centre in Kano.

According to him, his principal is less bothered by any political coalition or alliance ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that President Tinubu is focused on nation-building.

He also described the coalition leaders as “bitter individuals” who are more concerned about being excluded from power than about the welfare of Nigerians.

“The president is not disturbed at all. Those leading the coalition are people who have no political weight. Many of them have contested several times and failed. Their popularity is fading,” Abdulaziz said.

“They only care that they are not at the table of power. Nigerians understand this, and that’s why their coalition is not gaining support,” he added.

On claims that the administration is favoring the South with projects, Abdulaziz rejected the idea, noting that massive projects in the North are still ongoing. He mentioned the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano gas pipeline, the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway, and the Kano-Katsina-Maradi rail line.

“If the president didn’t care about the North, he would have abandoned these projects. Instead, he has continued funding them,” he said.

He added that the government is also starting new projects like the Sokoto-Badagry highway, stressing that development under Tinubu covers all parts of the country.
