Politicians, civil servants contribute to poor governance – Deputy Speaker Kalu

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has said that civil servants and technocrats contribute to the economic hardship in the country.

He made this known on Thursday, March 21, 2024, during a courtesy call by the Platform Public Service Boot camp attendees at the National Assembly, Abuja.

Kalu suggested the need to digitise the public in order to create accountability and productivity.

According to the lawmaker, many youths do not understand the concept of public service which has been misinterpreted as a mere means of livelihood.

In a post published on Daily Post, the Deputy Speaker was of the view that public service is more than a job but a commitment to the betterment of society, a noble calling and above all, a duty that must be fulfilled to secure the nation.
