The ruling All Progressives Congress says it has enough room for Nigerians and other political actors willing to join the party.
This was disclosed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka, in response to a question posed to him in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television.
Speaking on the state of affairs of the party and its preparedness for the 2027 general elections, he stressed that individuals who have so far joined the APC are doing so willingly.
The APC in recent time have been the most attractive political party in the country, attracting major players from across the political divide.
“We are open to receiving any Nigerian who wishes to join our party, but we don’t speculate as to who may come next, but as many that would come, we have room to welcome him to our party.
“Listen, nobody is cajoling anyone. These men, eminent leaders in our country, who are joining our party do so on their own volition.
“So I can’t tell you where the cajoling is, because that’s not happening. Look, Kano is one of Nigeria’s most important states. So for a governor in Kano to decide to join our party, he made that decision on his own, voluntarily.
“President has been remarkably successful, even under three years of his administration. You and I had conversations earlier on when these policies were declared by the President. It was difficult, but still, two years on, it’s a new dawn in our country, you can see that things are remarkably successful,” Morka said.
