Former Minister of Works, Mike Oziegbe Onolememen has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The chieftain of the party addressed his letter to the chairman of the party in Edo State, Tony Azerbaijan.

He said he was no longer interested in being a member of the party in a letter.

Onolememen was a founding member of the main opposition party and has been in the party since 1998.

According to him, Godwin Obaseki has taken the party as his private property since becoming a member a couple of years ago.

“I write to formally inform you and the entire members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that I am resigning my membership from the party, effective immediately,” he said.

He said that the decision followed due consultation following the protracted conflict in the party.

“I want to use the opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of the journey since I joined the party in 1998.”
