The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed worries over conflicting reports surrounding the ill-fated Nigerian Air Force fighter jet, declared missing on Thursday.

The party, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the fate of the two courageous pilots had become even more disturbing.
The party charged the nation’s gallant troops not to allow the situation to dampen their spirits at this critical time, adding that all patriotic Nigerians, appreciate their sacrifices in defending the country, despite all odds.

The party, however, urged the Nigerian Airforce to hasten its investigation on the matter so that Nigerians would be adequately informed.

The party also urged Nigerians to be at alert and continue to support and pray for the troops, as they battle in the frontline adding that every effort must be made to secure our nation from terrorists, insurgents, and bandits.
PDP, yesterday, also expressed shock over the death of right activist, social crusader, and the National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin.

The party described the death of Odumakin as a huge loss to the nation given his erudite contributions to the national dialogue and relentless commitment towards the development of democratic ethos in the country.

“Odumakin was consistently focused on fighting for a nation in which the principles of equity, fairness, and justice will thrive in every sphere of our national life.

“He dedicated his life as a journalist, human rights activist, and social crusader for improvement in every phase of the live-in his country,” the statement added.
