PDP crisis: Another tension erupts as Ayu launches fresh attack against Wike and his allies

The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu has launched an attack against the aggrieved G-5 governors of the party.

According to reports, Ayu allegedly torn out the poll agents’ list that the governors have compiled and sent to the national secretariat of the party in Abuja.

The national secretariat of the PDP is expected to forward the list to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This list allows only party agents that are accredited by INEC to be allowed to stay at polling units and collation centres.

Ayu is said to have expressed fear of entrusting the party's future in the hands of persons the aggrieved governors have nominated.

The Electoral Act states that each political party are to be represented at each polling unit and collation centres across the country.

Also, the Electoral Act requires that the agents sign the result sheets before the electoral officer will announce the outcome of the voting at polling units and collation centres.

Some concerned citizens claim this internal crisis in the PDP will bring about the lose of the upcoming election.
