A number of chieftains of the largest opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa depreciating the strength of the former.

The decampees were former members representing Toto/Gadabuke at the State Assembly, Honourable Madaki Ada-Goje, and former administrator of Gadabuke Development Area, Mr Benjamin Musa Belodu and their supporters, Daily Trust reports.

The Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, who received them during the end-of-year APC stakeholders meeting held in Toto Local Government Area (LGA), said: “The efforts of the government of APC in improving security in the area, provision of agricultural investments, the offer of political appointments to the indigenes among others led to their movement from PDP to APC.

“I am  assuring our supporters and those in opposition that the government has pledged to sustain the tempo of growth and development for the party to continue beyond 2023 general election.”

In their remarks, members representing Toto Gadabuke at the State Assembly, Usman Labaran Shafa, and the state Commissioner for Health, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya urged the people of the LGA to support the administration of Governor Sule to continue to develop the area, according to Daily Trust.

The decampees, Ada-Goje and Belodu, called on their supporters to continue promote “politics without bitterness”.
