PDP: Wike, Ortom, G-5 govs celebrate outcome of NEC meeting in viral video

A video of members of the Integrity Group who are known popularly as the G-5 celebrating the outcome of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting has made the rounds.

The video seen on the micro-blogging platform, X (formerly called Twitter) shows the
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, ex-governor Samuel Ortom, ex-Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu, and Ifeanyi Uguwanyi of Enugu State singing after the NEC meeting held in Abuja on Thursday, April 19.

The largest opposition party was in turmoil before the general elections and has been without a substantive national chairman after ex-chairman, Iyorchia Ayu took the party to court for his dismissal in 2022.

At the end of the meeting with stalwarts of the party, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP passed a vote of confidence on the party’s Acting National Chairman, Umar Iliya Damagum.

This was disclosed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba via a statement.

Damagum is widely known to favor Wike’s camp, hence the celebration among the G-5 governors.
