Hauwa Atiku-Uwais, the Chairperson of the National Strategic Committee, PDP New Generation, and the daughter of the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar has waded into the controversy that has surrounded the party.

Hauwa who was speaking in an interview on Channels Television's political program, The Verdict 2023 on Tuesday, February 21 said nobody is above the constitution of the party.

Her comment comes off the back of the infighting that has struck the largest opposition party that has led to the formation of the G5 governors. These are a group of governors fighting for the resignation of National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu after the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the party.

The G5 governors believe it goes against the constitution of the party that the two highest offices of the party are occupied by individuals of northern extraction.

She said: "For me, I like to leave party affairs to party people. The G5 governors have stated what their minds are and the party has stated its position and I think that first things first, no person under the constitution of the party or a group of individuals that meet for a common purpose should be guided by the rules and regulations of that particular group."

"If you believe that you have other opinions, that is your take."

The presidential and national assembly election is slated for Saturday, February 25.
