Ortom's media aide resigns, joins governorship race

Tever Akase, media aide to Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has resigned his position as aide and announced his intentions to contest the governorship election.

According to him, should he wins the 2023 election, he plans to strengthen the state anti-open grazing law for his people.

He disclosed this on Wednesday, September 29, after he tendered his resignation letter.

Akase also promised to provide security within and around the borders of the state.

“At about 9 am today, I tendered my resignation letter to my boss in company of my wife and my best man. I am here to tell you that officially, I have resigned to concentrate on my governorship ambition, and God willing, come 2023, I will succeed my boss as Governor.

“Security of the people of the state would be one of our cardinal programs if we come to the office in 2023.

“We will strengthen the open grazing prohibition and ranches establishment law and even make it stiffer because our people deserve to live. We will do everything to guarantee internal security and the security of our borders.

He thanked his boss for his infrastructural development to the state over the last six years. on the issue of Agriculture, job creation, infrastructure, education, health among others, Akase noted that he will focus on these areas in other to advance the state.
