A section of social media users have reacted to a comment by Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) about the chances of Peter Obi in the February 25 polls.

Kwankwaso said during an interview on Channels Television’s ‘The 2023 Verdict’ Friday evening said Obi chances of winning the presidential election depend on a merger with him.

According to Kwankwaso: “You see, I can tell you, and I’ve said it here on this chair when we were about to come together, and I said it that the only opportunity they (Labour Party) had was for us to come together.”

A few weeks ago, Kwankwaso disclosed why the proposed merger with Obi did not work out.

The former Kano State governor said it failed because Obi’s LP was at the peak of a media hype.

izotene: This offer is no longer on the table. We already have a vice. Support Peter Obi and we may just give you minister for Works and Housing. #Respectfully

orisha_nla: Moral lesson: in life it’s very important to quickly know and accept whose shore GRACE is abound.. so you won’t lose V.P and inversely lobby for a ministerial post

damilolabekes: Oga Sir, Kindly support Peter Obi sir and you will be remembered for good in Nigeria and posterity would remember you that you contributed to this movement

shakar_el: You dey proud before Abi … e don clear for your eye… Peter Obi don’t need you anymore Sir

st.vics: Kwankwaso should please rest. Obi has moved on. Obi's popularity must be tested. Since Kwankwaso cannot deputize him, the merger talk is needless. Hence Kwankwaso should focus on winning Kano.
