The Minister of State for Labour and Employment and Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congres (APC), Festus Keyamo has shared some details of the telephone conversation between the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the United States Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken.

Speaking in response to comments made by the Peoples Democratic Party's Atiku Abubakar the Minister highlighted some major reasons for Blinken's call to the President-elect.

Keyamo explained that the United States government is aware of the actions of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi aftermath of the election. He likened their failure to accept defeat to former US president, Donald Trump after losing the 2020 election.

Keyamo claimed that the United States is aware of election malpractices by all the leading political parties during the February 25 polls which did not affect the overall outcome of the elections.

According to the Minister, the international community is aware of the fact that the votes that were garnered by Peter Obi in Anambra State were higher than what was recorded on the INEC portal.

The APC Chieftain also explained that the US is aware of the crises that have rocked the APC making them less likely to win the election.

He also explained that the move by the United States to sanction electoral offenders doesn't undermine the credibility or legitimacy of the polls.
