INEC ignores Apapa-led faction, publishes names of candidates from Abure’s camp

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the names and particulars of candidates listed by Barr. Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour party

Reports indicates that as a result of the internal crisis of the Labour Party, INEC on Friday, May 12, ignored Lamidi Apapa-led National Working Committee

The Labour Party are battling over the leadership position of their party.

Both Julius Abure and Lamidi Apapa factions of the party have been at loggerheads over who is the recognised National Chairman of the party.

This crisis affected their primaries as both factional parties submitted names of candidates who will participate in the November 11 Governorship elections slated to hold in Kogi, Bayelsa and Imo, later this year.

Apapa-led faction submitted Joseph Ikechukwu Ukaegbu in Imo state, however, INEC accepted Athan Nneji Achonu of the Abure faction.

Also in Kogi state, INEC published the name of Barr. Adejoh who emerged from the Abure faction as LP’s guber candidate for the state as opposed Col. Dr. Vincent Enemona Abu and Barr. Okeme Adejoh of the Apapa faction.
